Happy Friday!
So I did my best at being a little bit of a foodie while visiting Portland, ME over the weekend. It is such a great city for cozy little restaurants and bars. It’s pretty well known for it’s food (some unique) as well. I saw unique because one restaurant is known for frying everything in duck fat, another makes donuts out of potatoes.
Duckfat– Just to say you’ve been! Order the poutine or fries (but get every dipping sauce) To be honest, this wasn’t my thing. I’d prefer like bar apps or a real meal over fries. They do however have a selection of panini and desserts to try.
Taco Escobar – ORDER EVERYTHING! This food was unreal, I could eat it every day.
Bull Feeney’s – The atmosphere in here is awesome! Has a very Irish feel. We went on Sunday afternoon, and there was a live band play
Bayside American Café– Order the Cinnamon bun pancake. I suggest getting it for the table, it is very rich! Get there early and put your name in, the place fills up very fast!
Holy Donut– I haven’t eaten a donut in I do not know how long. But this was well worth the cheat. I opted for the dark chocolate sea salt donut. Did I mention these are potato donuts! YUM! (and yes I saved my donut and ate it in bed, sorry not sorry)
We did also check out The Cellardoor Winery at the Point and I absolutely fell in love with the atmosphere and the space itself.
And we tried to be adventurous while climbing rocks to get views of the Portland Lighthouse. Also made me feel a little less guilty about the weekend calories 😉
