Good Morning All & Happy Sunday!

I wanted to introduce a new little thang to the blog and I am excited for it!  To go along with my blog’s name, I wanted to have coffee with ya’ll! Think like coffee talk, but on paper (well virtual paper).

But first, today is a special day ! I have to wish my Dad a very Happy Birthday up there in Heaven! Inching ever so close to 60 years old! I wish that we could have him here on earth to celebrate on day like this, but I take comfort in the memories we have of earlier Birthdays! I can’t help but look at pics of him having being the fun, caring dad he was and wanted to share a few.

Today I wanted to explain why I chose Coffee with Coco, why I love the name and why it means so much to me. I can’t believe I haven’t done that yet. I chose Coffee because well, I enjoy coffee, maybe a little too much. It is how I start every single day of my life, first thing I do when I wake up is get that Keurig heated and patiently wait for the smell of coffee to fill the kitchen. On Weekends, I like to wake up, make coffee and enjoy it while cozying up back in bed or by the fireplace in the cooler months. Coffee time is a time where I can plan the day or week, journal, listen to podcasts, read, or catch up on a show. For me, it’s the most relaxing part of my day. I also love trying to find new coffee shops and try new coffees. Coffee shops give off a much different vibe then other food establishments. Not much better for a coffee lover, when they find a cozy little shop, with some seats by the window to take in the sights while sipping on their favorite beverage. Coffee is also conversational. How many times have you planned a coffee date or met up for coffee? So I thought for my blog’s purpose, coffee was a perfect fit.

So why Coco you ask?

About 25 years ago or so, my cousin who is about 6 years younger than me, had the hardest time saying my full name Courtney. So on her own she just started using Coco and it stuck. My entire family adopted the nickname as well so not only was I Coco to my cousin but to all my aunts, uncles, grandparents, mom and sister. It even had a reach to friends, coworkers and bosses. Yes, that’s right I said bosses. This silly little nickname didn’t become really special to me until I became an Aunt to my two sweet nephews and they decided on that is what they would call me as well. I’m their Coco and to me that means the world.

I mean….

Look at those faces 🙂
