Back to Bake-sics

Finally, my first fall post of the season (better late than never, right?). Between September’s festivities and work being nuts, I have finally made a point to take time to enjoy my favorite season of the year.

I finally grabbed some mums, pumpkins, brought out the sweaters, put on the dark lips and last but not least baked!! I have not baked a dessert or yummy treat in so long, I can not even remember what it was I made. Agh!

I’m in full on fall mode and of course I wanted to share how I kicked off my fall fun.

First off: An Apple Pumpkin Cobbler Craze

I have never once made a cobbler until last weekend. I don’t know if I did it right but dang did it come out delish.

Ingredients: 1 can of pumpkin 1 can of apple pie filling 1 box of yellow cake mix 1/2 cup of oatmeal 1/4 cup of brown sugar 1 tsp of cinnamon 1/2 cup of butter

What to do:  Pre-heat oven to 350. Mix all the ingredients together in a big bowl. I started off with the larger ingredients. I mixed the cake mix, pumpkin and apple filling together. Then mixed in everything else in. Moved all ingredients into a baking pan and covered the top with pecans, brown sugar (just a bit) and oatmeal. Baked for 60 minutes, let cool a bit and served with vanilla ice cream. Tastes and smells like fall!
