Before posting my scones recipe, and well because my nephews are my lil world, I need to share {proud Aunt syndrome in full effect} some pictures from the past weekend. My little nugget of a nephew turned 5 on Thursday and I can’t believe it. This kiddo is so special to me and I was so happy to be able to spend his special day with him. He’s a little old soul and so full of love, it was a wonderful party celebrating this sweet boy.
Now for a recipe! So I am a team captain for my office’s winter biggest loser competition. And since we started this little competition all I’ve wanted to do is EAT!
I don’t know if it’s knowing that I should be watching what I eat because I really need to lead my team ‘Lose A Latte’ (perfect for working for a coffee brand right ;)) to victory or the cold weather or the whole ’tis the season I’ll eat everything attitude but dang all I want is bread bread and more bread.
And in honor of giving up carbs until Christmas, I wanted to share one of my favorite recipes, sausage and cheese scones!
What you need:
1/3 cup of butter
1 egg
1/2 cup of milk
2 cups of flour
4 teaspoons of baking powder
1/2 teaspoon of salt
3/4 cup of cheese of your choice
Whatever amount of sausage you want!
What to Do:
Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Stir flour, baking powder and salt together. Crack the egg into separate bowl and mix with milk. Mix the butter into the powder mix, kneading with your hands. Add cooked sausage. Combine box bowls together and stir with fork. On floured surface dump the mixture out and cut into 6 or so pieces, Place on greased pan and back for 15-20 minutes minutes. Now time to enjoy!
Very nice photos! I love the photos with the family al together. Those scones look delicious !
